The Maintenance Assistance Program at PCC is a short-term training program for state and national government employees, as well as utility employees, in the area of infrastructure operation and maintenance. It is funded by the United States Department of the Interior, office of Insular Affairs, through it Technical Assistance Program. MAP means training programs to up-grade infrastructure related government and utility employees’ competencies and up-grading PCC facilities related to O&M training.
Much of the MAP training is specially developed to meet specific needs of the government and utility offices requesting the classes. The program allows the college to continue developing Palau’s human resources in this important sector.
In the past, this funding program was called OMIP (Operations and Maintenance Improvement Program), but was changed to MAP by the Department of Interior in 2012. MAP will continue to offer specialized training in many areas related to infrastructure operation and maintenance:
- equipment maintenance
- facility maintenance
- road maintenance
- water/wastewater operation and maintenance
- computer software training
- workplace literacy
- CIP inspection
