The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree is awarded to students who successfully complete at least 60 semester credits of career/technical related general education courses. The degree provides students with skills and competencies for gainful employment. This degree is terminal. Credits earned may be transferred or counted at the discretion of the receiving institution. Students must earn a GPA of 2.0 (C) or better for all program courses required for the degree.

Entrance Requirements – To enter the Associate of Applied Science program, a student must meet one of the following requirements:
- Be a high school or adult high school graduate with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0, OR
- Possess a HiSET diploma with a minimum total scaled score of 45 on all five subtests, OR
- Possess a GED diploma with a minimum total score of 145 on each subject, OR
- Be a currently enrolled student with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0.
Note: Nursing Program applicants must have Hepatitis B immunization prior to the beginning of clinical experience.
Exit Requirements – To be granted the Associate of Applied Science degree, a student must:
- Satisfactorily complete all program requirements. Degree program, general education, and other required courses for each major are specified under “Programs and Courses.” General Education including Core Requirements for each program can be chosen from the following:
- English (EN Core) – Minimum of 3 credits from: EN100, EN112, CO110.
- Quantitative (MA Core) -Minimum of 3 credits from: MA100, MA101, MA103, ET103.
- Natural Science (SC Core) -Minimum of 4 credits from: AG111, SC103, SC109, SC110, SC119, SC120, SC159A, SC159B, SC160, SC161, SC170, SC201, SC205, SC206, SC209, SC239, SC249, SC270.
- Social Science/Humanities (SS/HUM Core) – 1 credit from SS 100 and a minimum of 3 credits from: HI159, HI169, HI179, HI189, HI209, HI259, VA109, EN189, EN219, CO201, CO205, PH169, PH249, RE169, CH109, JP109, JP119, JP209, JP219, SS109, SS119, SS129, SS149, SS169,
SS179, SS189, SS201, SS203, SS209, SS229, SS259, MU100, MU102, MU106, PW101, PW119. - Health and Physical Education (HP Core) – Minimum of 2 credits from: HP180, HP181, HP185.

- Successfully complete minimum credits required for each program (See different programs for required number of credits).
- Have a minimum Grade Point Average of 2.0.
- Have a grade of C or better in each program course.
- Have a grade of C or better in each other required course.
- Residency: Final 12 credits must be taken on PCC campus. The residency requirement may be waived for cause at the option of the Vice President of Education and Training.
- File an application for graduation. Refer to the “Application for Graduation” section of the catalog for complete details.
- Fulfill all financial obligations to the College.
Note: Credits earned from courses numbered below 100 are generally not counted toward the AAS degree and not transferable to four-year colleges/universities.
