Palau Community College (PCC) bade its farewell to the students and instructors of Otis College of Art and Design last Thursday, June 13, 2013. The group had spent about two weeks in Palau creating a final design for the Palau Freedom Memorial, a monument honoring Palauans who have served and are serving in the United States Military since the Vietnam War.
After their final presentation of the design for the Palau Freedom Memorial last week, the students of Otis College spent the afternoon at the PCC Courtyard creating an art piece. The art piece was a mixture of different images, such as dolphins and flowers, which signify Palau and the island lifestyle.
Sam Adelbai, a local Palauan artist, took the piece as a contribution to the Palau National Museum. It is kept as a memento of Otis College and its involvement in the creation of Palau’s Freedom Memorial.
Complete sets of drawings with element descriptions of the Palau Freedom Memorial are available at the PCC Tan Siu Lin Library.
