On Friday, August 10, 2018 Palau Community College (PCC) held its annual convocation in preparation for the new school year. The meeting featured special remarks and presentations from PCC President Patrick U. Tellei, Dean of Academic Affairs Robert Ramarui, HR Personnel Manager Harline Haruo, Dean of Students Sherman Daniel, Director of IREO/ALO Deikola Olikong, IR Ligaya Sara, Director of Physical Plant Clement Kazuma, and
President of Classified Staff Organization Larry Wakakoro. All college personnel who attended not only had the opportunity to hear college updates on programs, accreditation, ISSA, U.S. Department of Education disclosures, and Emergency Operation Plan but also indulge in social network among colleagues.
Held every year, the PCC Convocation is an opportunity for the college administration, faculty, and staff to address issues before the beginning of the new school year. It also provides the college personnel with important information regarding programs and services that are being offered to the community. The convocation opened with a prayer by Adult High School Counselor Pastor Hedrick Kual followed by an Ice-breaker activity by Dean Robert Ramarui and special remarks by PCC President Dr.Patrick U. Tellei with an overview of UN Sustainable Development Goals.
PCC Director of Institutional Research and Evaluation Office/Accreditation Liaison Officer Deikola Olikong shared information about U.S. Department of Education Consumers Disclosures. PCC Institutional Research Analyst Ligaya Sara followed with an updates of the Institutional-Set Standards for Student Achievement (ISSA) with the supporting data, such as enrollment & graduation. The convocation ended with a closing remarks from the Classified Staff Organization President Larry Wakakoro.
