The Food Technology Class under the Cooperative Research & Extension (CRE) department of Palau Community College (PCC) held an awarding ceremony last Friday night, June 21, 2013. Participants of the training program were taught how to cook nutritious meals with the available food supply (e.g., taro or rice), learned to prepare healthy foods, and exchanged cooking experiences with other participants.
The program had 5 meetings, each three hours, under the instruction of Dalton Thomas and Dr. Lydia Marero. During the awarding ceremony, the participants were able to showcase their new cooking skills by providing food for that evening’s feast. The participants were divided into groups and cooked food such as lumpia.
A total of 26 people received certificates for food technology. Guests invited to honor the participants’ achievements included PCC President Dr. Patrick Tellei, Director of Development Tchuzie Tadao, and Cooperative Research & Extension (CRE) Vice President Thomas Taro.
