Friday, July 04, 2014 was the last day of classes for students participating in the Palau Community College (PCC) – Continuing Education (CE) Summer Kids Program for 2014. Students who completed the summer program were presented with certificates. A total of 137 students from elementary schools across Palau participated in this year’s program.
The Summer Kids Program offers classes to students of all levels of elementary school. This year, the summer program classes focused on the subjects of mathematics, English reading, English writing, Palauan orthography, and marine science. Each class was designed to provide education activities for the students that will enhance their abilities and improve their skills in the subject areas. The classes also helped the participating students develop new skills and interests.
Teachers for this year’s summer program were Miriam Anastacio, Judson Butelbai, Kalista Rafael, and Norma Mersai. Participating students were also taught by guest instructors about aspects of the Palauan culture, such as traditional chants and spear-making. The summer program classes began on Monday, June 09, 2014.
