This week, Palau Community College (PCC) hosted its Career & Technical Education (CTE) Awareness Week. On Wednesday, March 18, 2015 and Thursday, March 19, 2015 students from dif¬ferent elementary schools and high schools in Palau were invited to tour the campus and learn about the programs currently offered at the college. Students and staff members were led on tours by PCC students. Campus tour stations included the general elec¬tronics shop, the PCC Tan Siu Lin Library, and the Palau Tourism & Hospitality School of Excellence.
Students from the following schools participated in the two-day event: Aimeliik Elementary School, Airai Elementary School, George B. Harris Elementary School, Ibobang Elementary School, Melekeok Elementary School, Mindszenty High School, Meyuns Elementary School, Ngaraard Elementary School, Ngarchelong Elementary School, Ngardmau Elementary School, Ngeremlen¬gui Elementary School, Peleliu Elementary School, Palau High School, Emmaus High School, Belau Modekngei School, and Koror Elementary School.
At each campus station, a college instructor introduced the subjects taught under their program. PCC students enrolled in the programs were also present to share their educational experiences at PCC. CTE Awareness Week is an annual event that invites elementary students, high school stu¬dents, and interested members of the community to the PCC campus as a means of learning more about the programs offered. The college also aims to encourage prospective students to enroll at Palau’s only institute of higher learning via exposing them to its campus environment.
