The final action for renewable energy initiative on PCC campus came to fruition on December 10, 2018 when Palau Community College (PCC) and Palau Public Utilities Corporation (PPUC) signed a momentous Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to install Grid-Connected Solar Photovoltaic Systems. The Grid-Connected Solar Photovoltaic System will provide 100k Wp to defray the cost of fossil fuel consumption and to promote the Paris Agreement on Reduction of Green House emission. Based on the MOU, the system will be installed on the roof of PCC Cafeteria composed of 304 solar panels, inverters, and electrical room. It will also be utilized as training module for PCC students in Electrical Technology program and PPUC technicians. Upon the completion of the project, the system will have data display board installed in the cafeteria for monitoring purposes. PCC Board of Trustees Chairman Masa-Aki N. Emesiochl and PCC President Patrick U. Tellei are very thankful and excited to be part of this project with PPUC and New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) and look forward to have more of such project in the future.
